Great reporting. I would only take issue with the statement, "The smuggling trade thrives on desperation." That may be true for some migrants; but, mainly, it's their desire to improve their lot, especially when, once in the U.S., they can work clandestinely, send earnings back 'home', plus establish a safe space for other relatives who later come in the same way. In addition, they know that their children born in this country will become residents, enabling them to bring in many family members legally. So, that's not desperation; that's capitalistic incentive -dangerous as it may be to them ...and for us.

Democrats created this illegal problem and they are the ones that need to be held accountable for destroying this country. These lying bastards allowed 20-30 Million illegals invade our country and neighborhoods and lied to the American people for 4 years saying the border is secure. Never ever Trust a democrat ever again because they will finish destroying this country with open borders again. All democrats and Biden should all be charged with treason and being a traitor to our country. Not one truly born American citizen would’ve voted for an illegal invasion into our country.
